This is my all-time favorite part of the year. I love the crisp, cool air. I love the colors of the leaves. I love the impending holiday season, which starts with fall break as far as I’m concerned. It’s easily my most favorite time of the year.
This month, our theme is Phobias–fears, anxieties, worries.
I don’t suffer from a lot of phobias. I hate snakes, but that’s just a sign of sanity as far as I’m concerned. I don’t care for spiders, but I am bigger than they are. I’m not fearful of heights, except that one time I was at the top of the Sears tower with my six month old, and I swear that building was swaying. I’m afraid of something awful happening to my family, but what momma isn’t?
I think my only real fear might be losing my internet. Last week, a line was cut in the neighborhood and our internet, along with our phone service went down. When I discovered that my access to everything outside of my own home had been literally cut, I literally lost it. We had no land line. We had no mobile phone. We had no internet. It was as if we lived with Laura Ingalls Wilder … only with electricity and cars and indoor plumbing, of course. Luckily, we were reconnected quickly and discovered that life went on without my corny tweets or incessant “likes” on Facebook.
This month, at OkWB, we’ll be blogging about our fears–providing, of course, the internet line doesn’t get cut at your house!
Along with a new month comes a new Blogger of the Month … Please be sure to stop by and say hello to Jennifer James McCollum. Jennifer blogs at JenX67.com, and we are so excited to share her posts this month.
Our first state-wide meet up is THIS SATURDAY! Squee!! Mari and I hope to see a lot of you at the Bricktown Zio’s at 5:00 and/or at Pinot’s Palette at 7:00.
Happy, happy October, y’all!
